Samantha Markle announces upcoming book about life in Meghan’s ‘shadow’

Ever since her half sister Meghan, nee Markle, tied the knot with Prince Harry in May last year, Samantha Markle has not held back when it comes to speaking about her royal sibling in the press.

Samantha, who shares a father with the Duchess of Sussex, has focused her criticisms on Meghan’s alleged treatment of their dad Thomas Markle, after the pair publicly fell out in the lead-up to the royal wedding at St George’s Chapel.

Now, the 54-year-old has revealed that she will release a tell-all book, laying bare what she claims to be the truth about living life in Meghan’s “shadow”.

Writing on Twitter on Friday, Samantha said: “”In The Shadows Of The Duchess” coming soon.”

Fans were quick to respond to Markle’s news, with on saying: : “I look forward to reading.” However not everyone was pleased by the announcement with one of her followers writing: “Girl bye the only thing coming is a Cease and desist with a bonus of a restraining order.”

To which Samantha then replied: “No it’s not and no one can stop my book from coming out but thank you for sharing your uneducated opinion.”

She also posted another tweet, in response to a follower, which read: “The only thing more fun than reading a good book is #writing one.”

It’s not the first time that Samantha – also known as Samantha Grant – has been reported as having a book in the pipeline though, as it was widely reported in 2017 that she would be releasing a book titled ‘The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister’, aimed at her half sister.

However that proposed autobiography never made it onto shelves, suggesting this may be the same book having undergone a rebrand.

This is the second time in just weeks that Samantha has hit out at her royal half sister, after she branded her “heartless” in a series of tweets on Boxing Day.

“I’ve never seen anyone so rude and hurtful and heartless and absent a soul in my life. #MeghanMarkle#SamanthaMarkle,” she wrote on social media.

“Shame on you for what you have done to our father. No PR machine can fix this. I retract the merry Christmas, you don’t deserve it. How dare you walk into a church.”

The verbal attack comes after months of public commentary from both Samantha and the women’s father Thomas Markle, with the family claiming that Meghan, who is pregnant with her first child, has cut them out of her life since marrying into the British royal family.

Samantha added: “Thank god you’re a Windsor. You’re not good enough to be a Markle.” She then took another shot at Meghan, labelling her “empty” and adding: “I don’t know enough profane words to articulate how I feel.”
