Dutch queen perfects summer chic in white suit for sweet family portrait

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands put on a stylish display in a white suit on Friday as she posed with her husband and daughters for a sweet family portrait to mark the start of summer.

The mother-of-three, 49, was all smiles as posed with her husband of 18 years King Willem-Alexander, 53 and daughters Princess Amalia, 16, Princess Alexia, 15, and Princess Ariane, 13, in the garden of their home Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague.

The royal looked beautiful in the all-white outfit, which featured wide-leg trousers and a loose fitted blazer, tied together with a skinny brown belt, while she wore her hair out in soft waves for the occasion.

Matching her mother, Princess Ariane wore a summery white dress which featured puffed sleeves and tan wedges, while her big sisters Princess Amalia, who is first in line to the Dutch throne, and Princess Alexia coordinated with their father in stunning sky-blue dresses. Princess Amalia opted for nude heels for the occasion while her younger sister made a statement in white sneakers.

“Today was the annual photo session at the start of the summer holiday,” the Dutch royal family captioned the new pics on Facebook.

During the photocall, Willem-Alexander spoke to the press about enjoying family time during the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have never been home as much as recently,” he said. “That was very valuable for the family, we really had time for each other. I think we will look back on this later as a time we would like to do again, but without the coronavirus.”

Queen Maxima is known for her great fashion sense, always stepping out in beautiful ensembles. Earlier this month the Argentinian-born royal stepped out in a chic boho-style dress for a night at the theatre with her husband.

The royal looked stylish in the floaty maxi dress which was embroidered with colourful stitching and featured striking bell-bottom sleeves. Queen Maxima accessorised with a matching scarf and black stiletto heels, while she wore her blonde locks out straight. She carried a small black clutch and wore minimal jewellery, while her husband wore a navy-blue suit matched with a white dress shirt and light blue tie.
