The tiniest star of the Commonwealth Games has arrived as Princess Charlotte made her debut appearance at the sporting event in Birmingham, England, on Tuesday, August 2.

Joined by dad Prince William and mum, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, the little Princess dutifully partook in the royal engagement, shaking hands and mounting Team England’s medals. However, it was her candid expressions and enthusiasm as she watched the games that won over the hearts of sports fans and royal watchers alike.

Charlotte arrived at the venue looking as adorable as ever wearing a black and white striped dress with a white peter pan collar, matching strappy white sandals, with her golden brown hair in neatly plaited pigtails.

Though Charlotte has claimed her favourite sport is gymnastics, it was clear to see the Princess was totally fascinated and engrossed by the men’s 1500-metre freestyle race in front of her.

And while the men’s freestyle race was indeed a thrilling one, many Twitter users were equally entertained by the Princess’s excitement over the games.

“Princess Charlotte is giving her brother Louis a run for his money with these expressions today,” one Twitter user wrote, likely referring to Charlotte’s 4-year-old brother’s antics during the Platinum Jubilee.

The Olympic-style tournament gave Charlotte the opportunity to experience the royal summer of live sports after her older brother, Prince George, 9, made his Wimbledon debut last month.

Charlotte’s most recent public appearance comes after she recorded a rare public message with her dad, with the pair wishing England’s women’s soccer team good luck ahead of their Euro 2022 Championship finals.

The visit also comes after Prince William and Kate had their own sports-based weekend. While William watched the Euro 2022 finals at Wembly Stadium in London, Kate took part in a friendly sailing race with Team Great Britain at Plymouth.

The Duke and Duchess are known for their sporty natures, often being pitted against each other in friendly matches, and clearly have passed their love of sports onto their three children.
