Princess Charlotte wished the England women’s soccer team, the Lionesses, “good luck” ahead of their game against Germany in the UFA Women’s Euro 2022 Final at Wembley Stadium, in a rare video alongside her father, Prince William.

Shared to the Royal family’s Instagram, the video was captioned: “Good luck tonight @lionesses, we’re all cheering for you!”

“We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck for tonight,” the Duke of Cambridge said.

“You’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way.”

Charlotte adorably chimed in with, “Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!”, as she waved at the camera.

The Lionesses commented on the post saying, “Thank you so much!”

President of the Football Association, the Prince later attended the game where England beat Germany 2-1.

William shared another post on social media after the game, congratulating the team for their win.

“Sensational. An incredible win @lionesses and the whole nation couldn’t be prouder of you all,” he wrote.

“Wonderful to see history in the making tonight at Wembley, congratulations! W.”

The Prince said the soccer team’s efforts had “inspired a nation”.

The Queen, along with Prince Charles and Camilla also joined in to congratulate the Lionesses on their win on Twitter.

An avid fan of the Lionesses, Charlotte asked her father to tell the team she was “really good” at kicking goals herself, when the Duke visited the the National Football Centre in St George’s Park in June.

“Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal,” William says in a video shared by The Independant.

“She said, ‘Please tell them that.’ She’s a budding star for the future.”
