Parents-to-be Harry and Meghan can’t wipe off their smiles as they greet local children

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex braved the cold as they met members of the public during a special royal visit to the English town of Bristol on Friday.

The royal couple headed to Bristol to visit one of the oldest working theatres in the world, the Old Vic Theatre. But perhaps the sweetest moment of the entire outing was when the parents-to-be stopped to chat with a group of local children.

Meghan greeted them and called over her husband after they asked to see Harry. The prince was seen laughing and joking with the pre-schoolers as he mucked around.

Later, Harry and Meghan were taken on a guided tour of the revamped theatre, finding out more about the theatre’s unique history and links to the local community.

The couple also dropped in on a workshop attended by local school children, which is part of the Bristol Old Vic’s outreach programme.

For the outing, the former actress wore a stunning dress by Oscar de la Renta under a stylish black coat by William Vintage paired with olive-green boots by Sarah Flint.

And after sporting a sleek bun for the past two outings, Meghan switched up her hairstyle, opting to wear her hair down in loose waves.

During their time in Bristol, the royal couple also visited One25 charity, an organisation that helps women break free from street sex work and addiction.

In a sweet personal touch, Meghan wrote messages of support on bananas that will be given out to the women, including notes that read: “you are strong” and “you are loved”.

The couple’s final visit in Bristol was to Empire Fighting Chance, which aims to fight the impact of deprivation on young people’s lives through boxing.

The charity supports children who are failing at school and in danger of drifting into a life of unemployment or even crime, and helps them turn their lives around.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to welcome their bundle of joy to the world in the UK spring. The newlyweds will move out of Kensington Palace this year into a property gifted by the Queen in preparation for the arrival of their baby.
