Meghan went back to her acting roots on Wednesday by visiting London’s National Theatre for the first time since she replaced the Queen as its patron.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is six months pregnant, learned about the work of the theatre and met members of staff, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.

Dressed in blush pink, the 37-year-old beamed as she watched local school children perform a piece inspired by play The War Horse.

Meghan opted for a Brandon Maxwell matching dress and jacket, paired with a Carolina Herrera clutch. Completing the outfit was a pair of $800 Aquazzura heels, first seen at her and Prince Harry’s engagement announcement in November 2017.

Meghan’s signature messy bun was swapped for a more sleek-looking up-do for the big official engagement.

After the workshop she spent time with apprentices and technicians from different departments including metalwork, painting and carpentry.

The National Theatre aims to reach the widest possible audience and to be as inclusive, diverse and national as possible with a broad range of productions that play in London, on tour around the UK, on Broadway and across the globe.

Before she married Prince Harry last year, Meghan had spent a decade as an actress, most notably in hit US show Suits. She also has a theatre background having studied theatre and international relations at Northwestern University, Illinois, and she previously volunteered at a performing arts after school program for children in underprivileged school districts in Los Angeles.

Meghan was named as patron of four charities supporting vulnerable women, education, the arts and animals in early January. Each member of the royal family holds several patronages, linking them with worthy charitable causes across the commonwealth, helping to support them and raise awareness of their work.
