Wimbledon 2022 is well and truly underway, attracting a variety of stylish celebrities to Centre Court. And, while competitors are bringing their A-game to the event, the famous spectators have also been one to watch as they’ve been serving a spectacle with their fashion choices. While this year’s tournament has seen some chic summer outfits, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, just made her 2022 tournament debut and she looks ace.

Kate, along with her husband, Prince William, arrived at the quarter-finals of the tennis championship on Tuesday morning, July 5, and sat in the Royal Box with the chairman of the All England Club, Ian Hewitt, and her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

The famously sporty royal, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is an avid tennis fan and regular attendee of the sporting event- delivering fresh new looks for each day she attends.

For this year’s first Wimbledon look, the Duchess opted for a radiant cornflower blue tea dress with white polka-dots by Alessandra Rich.

The ’80s-esque style frock featured pleating, subtle puff sleeves that reach just past the Duchess’s elbows, cinched together at the waist by a matching spotted belt.

On her chest, Kate also wore a pinned green and purple bow, which symbolises Wimbledon, colours only the club’s patron, president, vice president and executive staff are allowed to wear during the two-week sporting event.

As for the Duchess’s make-up, as always Kate kept things fresh and natural. Choosing a light blush and contour to give her a glowing look. Her brown locks were kept down and brushed back away from her face.

For accessories, Kate wore gold and pearl drop earrings and brought a pair of classic tortoiseshell sunglasses. She also had with her a white handle bag and white slingback heels with a black toe. The choice of shoes was an unexpected one as the Duchess is often seen wearing simple suede pumps.

Kate has truly mastered the summery unofficial dress code of Wimbledon, but eagle-eyed royal watchers may have noticed that the Duchess had previously worn the exact same tea dress during her surprise appearance at a luncheon during the Platinum Jubilee weekend, a reflection on her ongoing goal to promote sustainability by re-wearing outfits.

While this is the Cambridge’s first Wimbledon appearance this year, Kate’s family members have been spotted enjoying the tournament over the past week as the sporting event is set to wrap up on July 10.
