New guidelines will discourage teachers in the Northern Territory from using gendered terms like “boys and girls” in a bid to raise LGBTQIA inclusivity.

The Diverse sex, sexuality and gender identity in schools draft guidelines were proposed by the state’s education department.

Sky News reported the document said using gendered terms for students who are questioning their gender can be harmful and “alienating”.

“Using gendered language such as ‘girls and boys’ or ‘ladies and gentlemen’ confirms gender stereotyping and roles and can be alienating for gender questioning and gender diverse children,” the document states.

“Avoid this by using vocabulary such as ‘students’, ‘class’, ‘crew’, ‘everyone’, people’ or ‘year X’ that are more inclusive.”

Education Minister Lauren Moss said the proposal is necessary to protect “young people and children who experience greater levels of harm or greater levels of isolation or greater levels of bullying”.

The proposal suggested school sports should be reassessed to ensure further inclusion, particularly for transgender students.

“Many transgender and gender-diverse children often withdraw from taking part in sport and physical activities because they feel highly uncomfortable or are forced into teams that do not match with their gender identity,” the guidelines read.

The draft outlined the need for schools to be adaptive with uniforms and ensure appropriate access to personal facilities, including creating safe spaces and providing privacy for students on school camps to make sure they feel safe.

Sky News reported Country Liberal Party Senate candidate Jacinta Price said she was shocked the government was “attempting to apply any Marxist ideology into our schooling system”.

“It goes to show that the Northern Territory Government’s priorities are all mixed up,” she said.

Australian schools aren’t the only ones trying to implement gender inclusivity, Disney was recently slammed by British TV personality Piers Morgan for going “woke”.

Disney Diversity and Inclusion Manager Vivian Ware said the corporation’s theme parks will aim to be genderless.

“So, we no longer say ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls … It’s hello everyone or hello friends…We no longer say, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…We say, dreamers of all ages,” Ware said.

Morgan labelled the move “pathetic” saying: “You can’t go to a theme park and hear the words, “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.” What’s going on?”

The outspoken journalist said the “woke” have “hearts of Graphene towards anyone that doesn’t conform to their intransigently intolerant joyless view of life.”
