Princess Anne has long been praised for her work ethic and dedication to royal duty and it seems she is living up to that reputation, adding yet another royal role to her already busy schedule.

Anne was recently appointed the patron of the Murrayfield Injured Players Foundation (MIPF), Scottish Rugby’s charity which provides support to injured players.

MIPF chair, Ian Rankin expressed his honour in welcoming the Princess Royal on as patron, highlighting her longstanding support for Scottish Rugby.

“The Princess Royal has been a dedicated supporter of the Scotland rugby team through umpteen swings of fortune since the 1980s, performing the official opening of Murrayfield’s East Stand in 1983 and becoming the SRU’s Patron in 1986,” he said.

“Her passion for sport, her commitment to the game at all levels, is well documented and we are honoured to have her join us as our Patron.”

The new role adds to Anne’s already impressive portfolio of over 300 organisations, where she serves as patron or president. Some of these include WISE, Riders for Health, and Carers Trust.

Princess Anne’s commitment to royal duty and her many patronages was recognised recently when she secured the title of hardest working member of the Royal Family for the fourth consecutive year having completed 217 engagements in 2024.

The numbers were tallied by Reboot Online after analysing the Court Circular, as per GB News.

Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, King Charles followed closely behind his sister in second place with 186 engagements throughout the year.

Surprisingly, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, claimed third place with 126 royal engagements in 2024. Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, took fourth place with 124 engagements, while his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, came in fifth with 108.

Queen Camilla completed 95 engagements, taking sixth place.

The Prince and Princess of Wales understandably carried out fewer engagements this year given Catherine’s battle with cancer. With Prince William’s focus on family, he completed 71 engagements, while Catherine managed 11 as she prioritised her health.
