Prince William prides himself on putting his family first. Although he has a strong sense of duty, the Prince of Wales is a devoted family man and often makes jokes about his family life.
Which is what the future king did when he visited school children in Liverpool and joked that one of his children needed a “good challenge.”
The 42-year-old Prince made the joke while visiting children from Princes Primary School and English Martyrs Catholic Primary School last week after he received three envelopes meant for his children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Each contained a £10 note and details of a “Smile Challenge,” where “the aim was to use the money to make someone smile without handing them the cash,” according to Hello magazine.
“This one will be a good one for Louis, he needs a good challenge,” Prince William joked, after accepting the envelopes.
The Prince of Wales then offered his gratitude on behalf of his kids.
“That’s very kind of you, thank you very much.”
The future king continued to banter with the students and cheekily complained how they were like his children as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis could not recall what they learnt in school when asked.
“I ask my children this every day and they always say absolutely nothing at all,” he joked.
It was great to see a relaxed Prince William in fine form after surviving last year which he described as “the hardest year of my life”.
When King Charles and Princess Catherine revealed their battles with cancer, the news sent shockwaves around the globe, recently Prince William shared that the past year had been “dreadful” as he watched his loved ones battle the disease.
“Honestly, it’s been dreadful. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life,” William said when asked about how his past year has been.
“So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.
“But I’m so proud of my wife, I’m proud of my father, for handling the things that they have done.”
Thankfully the King continues on his path to recovery and Princess Catherine has completed her preventative chemotherapy and is in remission.
