It seems these days that once you reach a certain level of celebrity status, wax figures of your likeness soon follow.
The latest lucky celebrity to be bestowed with the honour is US first lady Melania Trump, whose wax doppelganger was unveiled at the at Madrid Wax Museum this week.
The towering statue recreates the first lady’s triumphant moment at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, where she gave a speech following her husband’s presidential nomination.

While some people are impressed with the likeness, others have called it “terrifying”, “pale” and “lifeless”.

“They need to redo this. Does not even look like her at all. She is more beautiful than that!” Laverne Martin Sanders wrote on Facebook.
“The face is pale, lifeless, the hair flat and looks like faded … average whoever did it did a bad job,” commented Eva Zekany.
While many were not impressed, it’s certainly not the first wax figure to cop a little criticism.
Madame Tussauds version of Michelle Obama was ridiculed online in 2008 for similar reasons.
