King Charles leads tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth with a heartfelt message of remembrance
As the world marked the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing on September 8th, 2023, King Charles chose this moment to remember his mother and acknowledge the profound impact she had on both the United Kingdom and the world.
In a poignant and heartfelt gesture, the King released a moving message accompanied by a previously unreleased photograph of the beloved Monarch, while expressing his deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support he and his family have received since the passing of his beloved mother.
The image of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was captured at Buckingham Palace on 16th October 1968, as part of an official sitting granted to Cecil Beaton (1904-80). It was chosen by His Majesty The King to mark the anniversary.
“In marking the first anniversary of Her late Majesty’s death and my Accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service and all she meant to so many of us,” he said.
“I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all.”
