Johnny Ruffo’s partner Tahnee Sims shares life update alongside heartbreaking reflection on grief

As she continues to navigate her grief over the passing of her beloved partner Johnny Ruffo, Tahnee Sims has shared an update about her life alongside a powerful message about dealing with grief.

Alongside a series of snapshots capturing time spent with friends, she also shared a profound quote from novelist Anne Lamott, hinting at the enduring rawness Sims feels regarding Ruffo’s absence.

“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never get over the loss of your beloved,” the quote read.

“But this is also the good news.

“They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up.

“And you come through.

“It’s like a broken leg that never heals perfectly — that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”

While fans rejoiced at the sight of Sims smiling once more, a wave of supportive sentiments also poured in, acknowledging the ongoing challenges she undoubtedly faces during this trying period.

“So good to see you smiling again,” Home and Away star Lynne McGranger wrote.

“Take each day as it comes beautiful girl. Some days are brighter and lighter from grief and then there are those not so good days. Be kind to yourself , always thinking of you and the love of your life, Johnny is with you always and forever,” another commented.

“You are the most beautiful soul! The goodness in you radiates. Johnny will be guiding you until you meet again. You inspire me to get through my own heartbreak,” one fan said.

“Loving seeing these happy moments. Am sure there are still lots of hard ones too, but focus of the positive and the future,” wrote another.

Earlier this year Sims reflected on 2023 and the loss of her beloved partner in a touching tribute that captured both the highlights of the year and the special moments shared with the late Ruffo.

“Hard to put this year into words… experienced some incredible highs & was absolutely shattered with the lowest of lows,” she began.

“In two minds of entering a new year, a part of me is welcoming of a fresh year and the other part can’t stand the thought of going into it without J.

“It’s hard to fathom your life & look forwards without your person that has been beside you for so many years – even though we knew we were on borrowed time, we still always held out hope.

“My hope now going into the new year is to be able to carry Johns zest for life through with me, cherish every moment & live life to the fullest just as he so badly wanted to.

“Here’s to 2024, please be kind.”

Ruffo passed away at the age of 35 on Friday, November 10 2023 after a long battle with brain cancer, triggering an outpouring of grief from fans and those close to him.
