Jamie Lee Curtis may be an Academy Award-winning actress with blockbusters like Halloween and Freaky Friday under her belt, but she says she’s not particularly choosy when it comes to picking roles.
Curtis recently told Us Weekly magazine she believes there’s a good reason why certain parts come to her and “it’s not random.”
“I don’t believe you’ll be seeing me playing Lady Macbeth. I don’t think you’re going to see Lady Macbeth in my filmography,” she said via the magazine.
However, it’s not something that concerns the 66 year old star who loves working in show business, explaining she has “no complaints” about her work life.
“I pretty much do the work that comes to me … I love my life,” she said.
“I just love the fact that I get to be me, that I get to do what I do, that I get to do art and be a part of the art form that I get to be part of – entertainment.
“I love the combo platter of show business. I’m a marketing guru. I love marketing. And I just love the process of living a creating life. So I got no complaints.”
Despite her insights, the Fierce Creatures star has previously admitted to being a loner but said she still enjoys spending time with her co-stars.
“I’m really quite a loner when I’m in my own life, but in my work I get to embrace people and I’ve been doing that for a long time,” she told Extra.
Curtis particularly enjoyed spending time with co-star Cate Blanchett while shooting the 2024 action-comedy movie Borderlands, which also starred comedian Kevin Hart.
“We’ve bonded in a really lovely way,” she said.
“Obviously, Cate lives far, far away … Chances that I would have ended up in a movie with her were very small, and so the opportunity presented itself … and I went to Budapest.”
While it’s great to see Curtis remain satisfied with her busy career, there’s one major decision she still regrets to this day.
Previously, the True Lives star revealed she went under the knife in her 20s after her looks were criticised by a crew member on the set of her 1985 film Perfect.
Curtis revealed that she overheard the movie’s cinematographer refuse to shoot her as her eyes were “baggy.”
“And I was 25. So, for him to say that was very embarrassing. So as soon as the movie finished, I ended up having some plastic surgery,” she told US 60 Minutes.
Curtis admitted she regretted the decision almost immediately.
However, in her later years Curtis has called on society to revaluate traditional beauty standards and once shared nude photos on social media to prove that beauty and confidence has no age limit.
