Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’s post-split commitment to remain close

In a world where celebrity divorces can often take a nasty turn, Hollywood’s beloved power couple, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, are demonstrating that their bond remains unbreakable even in the face of separation.

The couple recently sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry when they announced their split after 27 years of marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the statement read.

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.

“This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Despite going their separate ways, a source close to the couple revealed to Page Six that Jackman and Furness have not allowed the end of their marriage to define the future of their relationship.

“He’s spoken to Deb, and they’ve seen each other,” the insider disclosed.

“They speak pretty regularly.”

The insider stressed, “They are always going to be friends and navigate this together. You just can’t be married for 27 years, share two kids, and suddenly stop speaking.”

While the couple have not spoken publicly about their split since making the announcement, Jackman spoke briefly about the matter while out for a walk in New York recently.

“It’s a difficult time,” he said when asked by a photographer about the break-up.

“It doesn’t feel quite right talking about it on the street.”

According to reports, Jackman was polite and smiled at the photographer before carrying on with his day.

The revelation that Jackman and Furness are committed to remaining close is a testament to the deep connection that has defined their relationship from the very beginning. Jackman and Furness first crossed paths on the set of the Australian TV series Correlli back in 1995, and their whirlwind romance led to a marriage that has long been the envy of Hollywood.

In a perfect example of their profound connection, when Jackman and Furness recently celebrated their incredible 27-year wedding anniversary, The Greatest Showman star took to Instagram to share a loved-up snap of the pair alongside a touching tribute.

“I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 YEARS!! I love you so much,” he wrote.

“Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart.”
