Duchess Catherine was seen sampling tomatoes with radio host Chris Evans, who had hosted his breakfast program from the gardens earlier, and apparently showed that despite her royalty, she had no objections to obeying the “five second rule” when she dropped a tomato onto the ground and then picked it up and ate it.

“It’s delicious and sweet,” she told him afterwards, adding that she has started getting into gardening with her children, Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

Catherine wore a gorgeous dark green dress with a white floral print with short sleeves and a fitted waist. It was the perfect choice for a flower show, and as usual she was meticulously groomed, with her long, dark locks tied back in a loose ponytail.

The prestigious flower show has been held annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea since 1913, and is one of the biggest events on the calendar for garden enthusiasts the world over.
