The Queen steps out looking radiant at the Chelsea Flower Show

The Queen has stepped out looking happy and radiant at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show.

The flower show has been held annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea since 1913, and is one of the biggest events on the calendar for garden enthusiasts the world over.

The Queen is the patron of the Royal Horticultural Society, and during her reign has attended all but 12 of the shows – that’s dedication!

Queen Elizabeth II wore a floral skirt paired with a blue jacket, a colour which suits her so well, and smiled broadly as she visited the flower show. And who wouldn’t be cheerful amongst all of those beautiful blooms!

Collecting flowers everywhere she goes, the Queen was presented with a lovely bouquet from a young schoolgirl.

She continued to smile as she met and mingled with other guests and members.

Her majesty seemed to genuinely enjoy looking at the stunning floral displays as she wandered the paths of the flower show.

The shower attracts around 165,000 visitors every year and this year’s event, which will be the 104th show, sold out almost two weeks before the opening. It closes on Saturday 27 May.

Don’t you think she looks lovely?
