When it comes to style, Nicole Kidman very rarely gets it wrong. But her latest outfit choice has divided fans and reporters at Starts at 60. The Australian actress took to Instagram over the weekend to share a snap of herself sporting a frilly, almost fairy-like, lavender mini-dress.

The outfit, which cinched in at the waist with a cream belt, featured ruffles and a lace hemline. Nicole also appeared to be wearing matching purple strappy heels, while her strawberry-blonde locks were styled in soft feminine waves. She captioned the photo, “#LavenderVibes.”

Nicole’s new photo was inundated with lovely comments from fans, with one writing, “Super-cute outfit! Love the colours!!!” Another added, “Such a cute dress.” While a third wrote, “Your outfit is beautiful. You look gorgeous.”

And while it’s certainly a very sweet, feminine dress, its cutesy vibe had some of us wondering whether it was perhaps a bit too young for the 53-year-old. After a certain age, it’s fair to say some looks just don’t work, even if you have the body for it! What do you think?

It’s not the first time Nicole’s outfit choice has left some scratching their heads. In 2018, the actress made headlines after she stepped out in an interesting ensemble for New York Fashion Week (NYFW). The Big Little Lies star wore a blouse, boot and skirt combo for the event, and the blouse in question was a cowboy-inspired one. With vibrant grey pockets and shiny silver buttons, it was clear that the Oscar-winning star was going for a different look. The blouse was tucked into a tight blue pencil skirt. Fans weren’t entirely sold on the outfit, but the shiny, silky material captured the attention of photographers.

Nicole completed the look with a gorgeous pair of pointy red boots that came up over her ankles. Her trademark red hair was dyed blonde for the event, and she wore it in a slick, straight style.
