Following a notable absence from social media, Hilaria Baldwin has surprised fans after taking to Instagram to announce that she and her husband, Alec Baldwin, are expecting another child together.

The 38-year-old mother of six shared the news via a video post on Tuesday, March 29, calling it a “huge surprise.”

“After many ups and downs over the past few years, we have an exciting up and a huge surprise: another Baldwinito is coming this fall,” she wrote. “We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise.”

In the video, Hilaria is swarmed by her toddler children: daughter Carmen Gabriela, 8, and sons Rafael Thomas, 6, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 5, Romeo Alejandro David, 3½, and  Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 18 months, giving her kisses and cuddles while she sits on the plush white carpeted floor of their house, holding the current youngest member of the Baldwin bunch, 1-year-old María Lucía Victoria Baldwin- who was born via surrogate.

The news of Baldwin’s newest family members comes years after Hilaria detailed her struggles of having two miscarriages before welcoming her fifth child, Eduardo Pau Lucas Baldwin, back in 2020.

In a statement to People, the couple expressed their delight by saying “one of the most beautiful things my children have experienced with a big family is how the heart can grow with every new sibling.”

The happy announcement comes months after the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of Baldwin’s western film Rust. Baldwin, who was the star of the film allegedly pointed what was supposed to be a prop gun at Hutchins during a setup for a scene, when the gun had gone off, killing Hutching and wounding their director, Joel Souza.

Hutchins’ family is currently suing the actor along with other of the film’s crew members for their alleged negligence regarding safety complaints on the set which ultimately led to Hutchins’ death.

Though Hilaria’s announcement made no mention of the tragedy, she did call her pregnancy “a blessing and a gift during such uncertain times.”
