Fans offered the chance to farewell Lisa Marie Presley as public memorial confirmed

A public memorial for Lisa Marie Presley has been announced, offering fans the chance to bid farewell to the late singer and the daughter of music icon Elvis.

Lisa Marie passed away at the age of 54 on Thursday, January 12 after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.

According to TMZ, Lisa Marie was rushed to hospital after emergency services attended the home of the 54 year old where they performed CPR before taking her to hospital, paramedics were reportedly able to regain a pulse en route to the hospital.

Shortly after being administered to hospital, Lisa Marie’s mother, Priscilla Presley, arrived to be by her daughter’s side.

Priscilla later announced the news of her daughter’s “devastating” death in a statement, while thanking the public for their “love and prayers”.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she said.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

As news broke of Lisa Marie’s sudden passing, fans across the globe joined high profile figures to offer their condolences to her family and pay tribute to the 54 year old.

Now the general public can offer their condolences in person after it was revealed that a memorial service will be held at Graceland.

“A memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley has been arranged for Sunday, January 22 at 9:00 am on the front lawn at Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. General public is invited to attend. Please continue to check back to Graceland.com for additional details,” a statement on Graceland’s website read.

“In lieu of flowers, the family encourages all who wish to send something to do so in the form of a donation to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation (EPCF), a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, offers support to various charitable organizations, especially focusing on arts, education, and children’s programs in the Memphis/Whitehaven area. DONATE HERE.”

In addition to paying tribute to Lisa Marie, fans will no doubt celebrate her successful music career which included the release of several successful albums.

She also found time to commit to a number of charitable endeavours. Lisa Marie was not only chairperson for The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation but also joined Oprah Winfrey to assist with the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina where she helped deliver food and essentials to families who had lost everything.

Lisa Marie is survived by her mother, her three daughters and half-brother, Navarone Garibaldi.
