Elvis fans have been rocked by the shocking death of The King’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie’s death came just days after she attended the Golden Globes where she got to see the actor, Austin Butler, who portrayed her father in the recently released biopic, Elvis, win his first Golden Globe, attributing it to the Presley women.

As news of her death reached all corners of the globe, an avalanche of tributes and messages of condolences began to pour in on social media.

Lisa Marie’s death was announced only hours after TMZ reported that  she had suffered from a “full” cardiac arrest.

As news broke of Lisa Marie’s condition, her mother, Priscilla Presley issued a statement in which she asked for the public to keep her daughter in their prayers.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care,” she said.

“Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”

However, shortly after her plea Priscilla announced the news of her daughter’s “devastating” death in a statement, while thanking the public for their “love and prayers”.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she said.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Lisa Marie is survived by her mother, her three daughters, and half-brother, Navarone Garibaldi.
