Comedian Dawn French has once again surprised fans with the debut of yet another major hair transformation.
The 64-year-old took to social media to share a snap of herself post salon appointment rocking a fabulous grey fringe.
“Hello, fringe my ol chum. Welcome back. Thank you @keasta,” she captioned her post.

Admirers of the actress quickly flocked to her comment section to share their thoughts on French’s new do.
“That’s a banging fringe … and fringing bangs! X,” one user commented.
“Ah, I’m glad you’re doing the fringe this year,” wrote another.
“Fabulous fringe for a fabulous lady.”
Many others left comments sharing how the combinations of French’s grey hair and fringe really brings out her eyes, with one saying: “Lovely….shades of grey and hazel eyes” while another wrote “Lovely and so is the colour. I must do it. X.”
This isn’t the first time French has surprised fans with a hair transformation. The actress has previously sported an undercut before deciding to embrace her naturally greying locks.
The award-winning actress and all-around funny woman had previously told Good Housekeeping earlier this year that her decision to go grey, like many other actresses, was triggered by the lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The real trigger came during the lockdowns when I was dying my hair myself, and I just couldn’t be bothered to keep doing it, so I let my natural grey come through,” she explained.
French had also previously told to Breakfast Show host Zeo Ball that changing up her hair did make her feel “fabulous.”
“You know, we spend so much time and money on it. And I’m the guiltiest of that, and I loved my hair. It took me 30 minutes to do it every day, and I loved that bob,” she said.
“But I’m ready for this now and not to be dyeing it anymore and kind of embracing the grey.”
However, she did admit that she would go back to dyeing her again if she wasn’t a fan of the final outcome.
“Now, look, the thing is if I get to the point where – because I want to have the bob again – and see what it looks like with the grey and that will take a while to grow,” she said.
French’s newest hair transformation comes after she commented on how the current beauty standards of “impossible” perfection have “buggered” women’s chance for equality.
Speaking on the Joe Black Meets podcast, French expressed how she doesn’t get modern beauty trends.
“I cannot entirely love perfect people. I cannot understand why people only want to show us [how perfect they are],” she said.
“And after all the fights women have had to be anywhere near equal [to men]. We’ve kind of gone and buggered it all up at the last minute by becoming Jessica Rabbits.”
The Vicar of Dibley star is known for being open with her fans about her own body struggles and is now part of the growing list of mature female icons who are advocating ageing naturally.
