Since health woes forced her to take a step back from the rigours of performing in 2021, international singing sensation Celine Dion is reportedly experiencing a massive loss in her earnings as her poor health continues to hinder her ability to deliver live performances.

The 54-year-old initially postponed her Las Vegas residency last year after she revealed she was not well enough to perform as she was experiencing “severe and persistent muscle spasm”.

“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing,” Dion said when she first announced the news.

“There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.”

Her recent health issues came amid the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns, forcing the star to cancel a number of her shows, which according to Hello caused Dion to lose in excess of AU$100 million (£60 million).

The Canadian singer had previously admitted she was “convinced” fans would be “so fed up” with the cancellations as she revealed she was doing everything in her power to return to the “level” that is required “to give 100%” during her live performances.

“And I’m so sorry that we have to change our tour plans for Europe once again,” she said at the time.

“First we had to move the shows because of the pandemic, now this is my health issues that is causing us to postpone some shows and unfortunately, we have to cancel some too.

“I wanted you to know, that I’m sorry for this news. I know you’ve all waited so long for the concerts and I appreciate your loyalty.”

It would appear that her fans’ loyalty has paid off after it was revealed that Dion’s European fans may soon be able to see the singer perform live on stage once again in 2023 after she hinted that her hiatus may soon come to an end.

Earlier this year Dion delighted fans after she announced new dates for her Courage European tour. She is scheduled to commence her tour on February 24 in Prague, Czech Republic, before performing around the continent until October.

As of this moment, there is no news on the US leg of her tour and currently, no updates on her Las Vegas residency dates either, but given that most of her earnings come from her residency it is expected she’ll be back on stage in the not too distant future.

Since announcing the cancellations of her tours and shows, Dion has maintained a low-key profile choosing to stay off social media and instead choosing to share personal milestones or video messages voicing her support or stance on current global issues.

Dion is currently ranked number 60 on Forbes‘s “America’s self-made Women of 2022” and has reportedly sold over 220 million copies of her albums worldwide.
