Canadian singing superstar Celine Dion has been forced to cancel the remainder of the North American leg of her world tour due to a mystery health battle.
Dion, who has suffered from “severe and persistent muscle spasms”, took to Instagram to issue a statement to fans concerning the cancellation and thanked them for their support.
“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing. There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road,” she wrote.
“I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be back on stage again. Meanwhile, I’ve been very touched by all the words of encouragement that everyone’s been sending to me on social media. I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.”
Fans were quick to offer their support to the My Heart Will Go On singer and wish her a quick recovery.
“The important thing is that you take care of your health, we’ll wait patiently.”
“Praying for your fast recovery. We want to see you killing it on stage as you always does. Take care Queen.”
“Soon you will be back my love, we love you very much and we want to see you well, all in your time! I love you so much, a big kiss from your Brazilian fan.”
“Dearest Céline, your health is the most important to focus on, we are patiently looking forward to your shows and we pray for a speedy recovery.”
“I know you can use this time to get back to health and reset and come back even stronger.”
Dion was also forced to cancel her Las Vegas shows in October 2021 after a series of health issues. In a statement released at the time of the cancellation, it was noted that Dion has been suffering from “unforeseen medical symptoms”.
