Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas may be one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples, but when the cameras aren’t rolling and they aren’t stepping out at glitzy A-list events, the couple enjoy spending time with their sprawling family.

The Welsh native regularly shares photographs of her own two children, Carys and Dylan, on social media, and frequently shared her love for father-in-law Kirk Douglas with the public, before he passed away at the age of 103 last month.

However it was her step-granddaughter Lua that Catherine, 50, gushed about this week, as she shared an adorable photograph of the toddler on her Instagram account, describing the tot as her “love”.

“My love,” the Mask of Zorro star wrote. “Lua Douglas. Rockin’ it.”

The sweet photograph showed Lua, who is the daughter of Michael’s eldest son Cameron Douglas – whom the  Basic Instincts star shares with his first wife Diandra Luker – and his partner Viviane Thibes, striking a pose in a retro outfit.

Lua, two, can be seen wearing a retro pair of bell-bottom jeans in the photo, with a plain white t-shirt and a pair of red sunglasses as she poses for the camera.

Michael regularly shares photos of his first grandchild on social media and in December the veteran actor shared a sweet snap of himself with Lua to mark her second birthday. He wrote: ” Happy birthday to my granddaughter Lua, who turns 2 today! Bubba and ZeZe love you!”

Cameron named Lua after his own grandfather Kirk Douglas, giving her the middle name ‘Izzy’ in honour of the late icon who was born Issur Danielovitch and known as Izzy for most of his life.

Kirk sadly died at the age of 103 last month. Eldest son Michael confirmed the news on Instagram at the time, writing: “It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103. To the world he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.

“But to me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was simply Dad, to Catherine, a wonderful father-in-law, to his grandchildren and great grandchild their loving grandfather, and to his wife Anne, a wonderful husband.”
