Let’s face it. Most of us would rather do anything else but clean the grout in between our bathroom tiles. But unless you can afford a house cleaner, it’s a chore you can’t avoid.
But now an Australian cleaning sensation has shown there’s a way to clean your grout in no time and all you will need is a few handy items from your home.
Melbourne-based Ramon Israel (@ramonisrael) uploads many lifestyle hacks on social media and this cleaning hack has proved very popular with his followers.
In a video he uploaded to TikTok, Israel gives instructions to mix one cup of baking soda, half a cup of hydrogen peroxide and one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid in a bowl.
Then he advises to apply the mixture directly on the grout and let it sit for five minutes to break down the dirt.
After that, he shows how to scrub the grout thoroughly. Israel says you can use an old toothbrush for this, then shows us how he wipes the area clean with a microfibre cloth. You can also use a paper towel.
At the end, the tiles and grout are clean and bright.
His fans were quick to sound their amazement at the results and thank him for his efforts.
“You are in your cleaning era and I’m here for it,” one commented.
“We love ur cleaning hack,” wrote another.
“Thanks for the tip,” one added.
“Thanks for the tip, my grout definitely looks a lot cleaner.”
If you are looking for other ways to keep your bathroom spick and span another social media sensation has her own solution for another problem bathroom area.
Home cleaning guru, Anita Burgess, suggests using shaving foam to remove the soap scum build-up from shower screens.
According to Burgess, spraying shaving foam over the door and giving it a good scrub will remove any smears and also leave a protective layer on the door which will help prevent fogging and limescale.
Once scrubbed, a quick wipe-over with a microfiber cloth should reveal a shiny new glass door.
Another foolproof way to ensure your shower glass sparkles is by using exfoliating gloves said Aussie mum Tara Lee when she shared her handy tip on the “Mums Who Clean” Facebook group.
“You spray or wipe down your shower with whatever cleaning products you use (I personally like to use Jif), let it sit for five minutes and then scrub with these bad boys! Tried it once and never turned back,” she explained.
