Perfect in polka dots! Helen Mirren is super chic in white frock and stilettos

As the saying goes ‘There’s nothing like a Dame’, and Helen Mirren proved the old adage to be true this week as she made a stunning appearance in California to mark the launch of a new cosmetics line targeted at ageing women.

The Oscar-winning actress put on a stylish display on Tuesday as she stepped out in her role as the face of L’Oreal Paris as the skincare brand launched its new Age Perfect Cosmetics line.

Helen opted for a stunning polka dot frock for the occasion, which was more figure-hugging than the styles we’re used to seeing her in. The stylish dress featured a high funnel neckline and long tapered sleeves, which fastened in a row of buttons at her wrists, while the wrap illusion cinched Helen in at the waist.

The 74-year-old The Queen star paired the monochrome dress with a pair of oversized gold hoop earrings and a simple pair of black suede stilettos. Her white hair was styled into her signature bob and she added a pop of colour to the chic look with a lick of pink lipstick.

Helen has been a brand ambassador for L’Oreal since 2014 and regularly appears in their adverts, and their website states that the actress is “proof beauty is not defined by age”.

Helen’s appearance in Beverly Hills comes just days after she attended the star-studded Berlinale International Film Festival, in the German capital, where she was being honoured with the Golden Bear award in recognition of her incredible career in theatre and on the silver screen.

The British beauty made a show-stopping appearance at the Homage Helen Mirren Honorary Golden Bear award ceremony last Thursday in a dazzling black ball gown, which was covered in holographic jewels.

The sophisticated frock featured a high neckline in sheer fabric and sheer three-quarter length sleeves, and she paired it with a simple pair of black stiletto heels and a small red clutch bag.
