Sheer delight! Joan Collins goes full glam in bedazzled 70s-style flared pants

Joan Collins embraced 1970s style in some very daring sheer flared pants covered in pearls, diamantes and feathers for a glamorous night at singer Elton John’s famous Midsummer Party this week.

The 86-year-old went full glam for the Elton John Aids Foundation event in France on Wednesday night, posing confidently for cameras in the quirky trousers which were paired with a boho style, off-the-shoulder blue and white top.

Standing tall in gold sparkly heels, the talented actress wasn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd, accessorising with a blue beaded necklace and earrings, a chunky silver ring and a small white clutch.

Meanwhile, Joan chose to keep her brunette locks down in soft waves and completed the look with a bright fuchsia lipstick, a swipe of blush to her cheeks and smokey eyeshadow.

The Hollywood star attended the event alongside husband Percy Gibson, 54, who looked dapper in a pair of white trousers, white buttoned shirt and navy blazer.

Also in attendance was host of the party Elton John, 72, and his husband David Furnish, 56, who both made bold statements in colourful and creative outfits.

Elton sported a bright purple suit and sparkly sunglasses while David opted for casual beige pants and a jacket featuring a flower pattern along the collar.

This year’s event marked the 26th anniversary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation which aims to create change and work towards an AIDS free future.

It was established in 1992 in the United States to support innovative HIV prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to people living with HIV.

The foundation has made many accomplishments over the years, including linking 57,000 more patients to treatment programs in 2017 and reaching 11.5 million people through programs since 2010.

The event was a far cry from one attended weeks ago by Joan in London where the stunning actress showed off her timeless style in a knee-length silk white dress covered in elaborate purple floral patterns, which she teamed with some statement camel and black heels.

Wearing her hair down in her signature curls, the legendary star added some bright pink lippy and large silver earrings to complete her beautiful look – while wrapping up for photos in an elegant white blazer.

Joining her at the bash was American actress and comedian Ruby Wax, 66, who went for a very daring ensemble, showing off every inch of her legs in a black outfit and unique black and white strappy pumps.
