Helen Mirren undergoes cosmetic procedure to look younger

Dame Helen Mirren has always looked good for her age, but she’s recently opened up about how she maintains her youthful appearance.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, the 72-year-old revealed she had a cosmetic procedure on her face to correct something she wasn’t happy about.

“’I’ll tell you what I had done recently, which I love — I got my eyebrows tattooed,’ she told the publication. “’I was fed up of my brows barely being there and when one of my girlfriends got it done, I thought that they looked great.”

While they’re not noticeable to many of Helen’s fans, the actress said that it has given her all the confidence in the world.

“They’re very lightly and delicately done, she continued. “But it means that when I get up in the morning and I have no make-up on, at least I have eyebrows. It’s made a huge difference.”

The Calendar Girls star is no stranger to showing off her makeup-free face to fans, regularly sharing before shots on her Instagram page and other social networks. Ahead of the Academy Awards last month, Helen proudly posed in a selfie with no makeup on whatsoever.

She’s also not shy when it comes to showing off her body. Earlier this year, The Queen actress stripped off in a charity campaign with a twist. Despite retiring from nude scenes in 2015, the legendary actress ditched her clothes for a charity campaign to encourage more people to donate their used clothes to those in needs.

For the racy shoot, Helen ditched her shirt and went for a skinny dip in a pool. A number of other female stars, including Kelly Brook and Kimberley Walsh, also appeared in the campaign in various states of undress, although Helen was arguably the one flashing the most flesh.

2018 is shaping up to be a busy year for the British star. While she’s already wowed audiences in the critically-acclaimed horror film Winchester, she has three further films set for release, as well as an appearance in a TV series.

Helen is set to appear on the small screen in Catherine the Great, while she’ll lend her acting skills for films including Berlin, I love You, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, as well as Anna. If that wasn’t enough, she’s also been cast as Betty McLeish in the 2019 film, The Good Liar.
