The benefits of pet ownership are well known but one thing many struggle to contain is the mountains of hair our furry friends shed. But now one dog lover has come to the rescue and found a household item that will mop up that hair in no time.
Zofi, who runs the TikTok account @thezcattle dogs, took to social media to share her secret and called it “the best pet hair removal hack” for your home.
Her secret? A microfiber cloth and sponge.
“What you’re going to do is take a clean, dry or slightly damp Scrub Mommy or any sponge and you’re just going to scrape off all the hair,” she explained.
In the video, Zofi gets to work on her couch and starts rubbing a fur-covered spot with the Scrub Mommy, then turns it over to show how much animal hair has been removed.
After that, she cleans her sponge with a microfiber cloth and goes back to cleaning.
She also points out how effective the sponge is for getting rid of hair from difficult crevices and space.
“It’s the weirdest hack ever but it works and I love that,” she said.

Many fellow dog owners expressed their gratitude and were excited to try out the sponge trick for themselves.
“Thank you for this!!” one wrote.
“I have a husky German Shepard so THANK YOU.”
“Will be trying this to get dog hair off of my seats in my car!!”
“Literally didn’t even think to use this! Gah now using one to do it!!! ” commented another.
“Oh my gosh I need to try this. I love my heeler but her hair is everywhere..lol.”
While Zofi’s hack was a smash with fans, another clever cleaner will revolutionise the way you remove trapped dirt and hair from carpets and rugs. Cleaning expert Brandon Pleshek recently dropped a cleaning bombshell in a video shared on his TikTok channel, @cleanthatup, revealing the game-changing vacuuming technique that could leave your carpets cleaner than ever before.
“Here’s a quick tip to remove the most dirt and hair from your carpet and rugs. Vacuum in a 360 pattern. This is really good for shag rugs and very thick pile carpet because you’re moving the fibres around, unlocking any deeply embedded dirt and hair,” he said.
The 360 pattern, as demonstrated in the video, involves vacuuming in all directions—up and back, one way, and then the opposite way. It’s a dynamic approach that ensures a thorough and comprehensive cleaning, going beyond the conventional methods and reaching into the depths of your carpet’s fibers.
“Another thing I like to recommend when vacuuming rugs is to always flip it over and make sure you give the back a quick vacuum,” he added.
