Comedy Corner: “My mother’s favourite joke”

"A man walks into a vet carrying his dog..."

To celebrate the upcoming Starts at 60 Comedy Festival (running next Thursday at Brisbane’s Sit Down Comedy Club), we’re sharing one of our favourite short videos from headline comedian Fred Lang.

Fred will be joining MC Terry Hansen (of KIIS 97.3’s “Robin, Terry & Kip” fame) and ten national finalists competing for the title of Australia’s Funniest Boomer. Click here to learn more about this special comedy night for, and by, older Australians.

Get to know Fred

Fred Lang, a beloved comedian and MC of 30+ years, describes himself as a “middle aged” (born 1964) maestro of mirth and merriment has just about seen and done it all.

As a favourite of the conference and hosting circuit, he’s gotten rave reviews from everyone from John Howard to Kevin Rudd; from Angry Anderson to the the troops of the Australian Defence Force.

Having led what he views an interesting life, Fred draws his material from those ‘every’ experiences, whether it’s his interest in immigration (both his parents escaped from Eastern Europe after WW1), or his belief that youth gets it way too easy nowadays. (He has no children, automatically making him an authority!)

Fred’s comedy is, and always will be, pertinent, insightful, clever and funny.

Brisbane readers can catch him next Thursday at the Starts at 60 Comedy Festival. Click here to book your ticket!
