One evening, a family brings their frail, elderly mother to a nursing home and settles her in, hoping she will be well cared for.
The next morning, the nurses bathe her, bring her a tasty breakfast, and set her in a chair by the window overlooking a lovely flower garden.
The woman seems okay, but after a while, she starts to lean over sideways in her chair.
Two attentive nurses immediately rush up to catch her and straighten her up.
Again, the woman seems okay, but after a while, she starts to tilt to the other side. The two nurses rush back once more and bring her upright.
This goes on all morning.
When the woman’s family calls in to see how she is going they ask, “Ma, how is it here? Are they treating you all right?”
“It’s pretty nice,” the woman replies. “Except they won’t let you fart.”
