Cher has credited her healthy diet and lifestyle for her ageless appearance, insisting it’s kept her looking young and wrinkle-free at age 72.

Despite there being just three years between them, the singing superstar plays 69-year-old Meryl Streep’s character Donna’s mum in movie sequel Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again. And appearing on UK talk show Lorraine this week, she was asked what the beauty secret was behind her wrinkle and line-free face.

As host Lorraine joked: “I don’t think you’ll ever stop. And you don’t look any blinking different!” Cher then responded: “I’m working at it. And you know what? I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I don’t do drugs. I think that has something to do with it I really do.”

She added: “I’m taking care of myself. I’m a good eater. I work at it. I’m responsible.”

Cher previously admitted she’d had a face lift 10 years ago, but made no mention of it during her chat with Lorraine. She previously said: “Yes, I have had a facelift, but who hasn’t? I have become the plastic surgery poster girl.

“Everyone says I am terrified of getting old but the truth is that in my job becoming old and becoming extinct are one and the same.”

Meanwhile, she appeared on Studio 10 on Friday where she was asked to dish on her love life – but was reluctant to give too much away to presenter Angela Bishop, as she sat down with her co-star Andy Garcia.

“I don’t talk about that anymore, because I find if people know about it, it ruins the relationship,” she said when asked if she’s dating anyone. “People want to pry everything and put it under the microscope so I just don’t like to talk about it.”

Cher is due to tour Australia later this year, and as Angela suggested she should have a “discreet” holiday romance down under, insisting Aussies keep everything quiet, the singer responded: “Keep it down under!”

Meanwhile, opening up on the moment she was head-hunted to appear on the second movie, Cher revealed she was first contacted by the producer to join in, and immediately said yes because she’s “scared of him”.

“I was terrified but everyone was so nice,” she added of the moment she joined the cast for the first time.

She also insisted while she looks her usual glamorous self on the movie, she actually helped plan her outfit for ‘Super Trouper’, because the original wardrobe “didn’t work”.
