Lovely! Princess Mary dazzles in fabulous shoulder-baring look

She may not be Queen of Denmark yet, but when it comes to fashion, Princess Mary rules them all.

The Australian-born royal stepped out in two fabulous looks this week during an official visit to Finland, showing off her penchant for making even the simplest of outfits look fit for a runway.

The royal was in Finland to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and its Nordic neighbour, and visited a number of sites in the country’s capital, Helsinki.

At a celebratory dinner on Thursday night, Mary, who has increasingly been taking on more royal responsibilities as she and husband Prince Frederik get closer to ascending the throne, spoke about the importance of friendship and partnership between nations in the region.

“Finland and Denmark can be among the pioneers to set an example by advancing cooperation, innovation and synergy in the Nordic region,” she told the audience.

The 46-year-old looked fabulous for the occasion, sporting a shoulder-baring black top and striking green skirt. She accessorised with an eye-catching diamond bracelet and kept her brown locks down in soft curls.

Earlier that day, the princess donned an entirely different look for a visit to Helsinki’s City Hall, where she met local kindergarten children who were excitedly waving homemade Danish flags as they greeted the royal.

This time, Mary opted for a soft-pink combo, sporting wide-legged trousers with a matching jacket and elegant white blouse. She completed the look with pretty pink nail polish to match her suit and a pair of pearl earrings.

She later met with Finland’s Parliamentary chairman Paula Risikko to discuss renewable energy solutions and the two country’s approaches to incorporate more green space into their major cities.

While Mary spends much of her time advocating for education and women’s rights, she has also proven adept at traversing the bigger economic issues for her adopted country and has helped her husband further promote Denmark’s trade business.

The international trip comes as Prince Frederik was admitted to hospital for back surgery. The future king was forced to cancel his own royal engagements after he was admitted to hospital for an operation on a herniated disc.

A herniated disc doesn’t always show symptoms, however, it can be extremely painful and usually impacts the rubbery cushions or discs between the bones of the vertebrae in the spine.

It’s not the first time Prince Frederik’s back has caused him problems. According to People magazine, the prince experienced a spinal fracture in 2016 after a trampoline accident. Following that incident, a palace spokeswoman confirmed he had cracked a bone in his cervical spine, located in the neck.

Mary is expected to head home at the weekend, and will no doubt be taking good care of her royal patient.
