Melissa Doyle sparkles in figure-hugging gown

Most Australians know her as the host of Sunday Night but over the weekend, Melissa Doyle proved that she’s also a radio star.

The former Sunrise host attended the Commercial Radio Awards in Melbourne, where she took home the award for Best Music Presenter. In addition to her extensive TV work, the mother-of-two is also a host on Smooth FM. Taking to her Instagram page, the 48-year-old gushed about her win.

“I’m glad everyone loves the music as much as we do,” she wrote. “So excited to win Best Music Presenter!”

While it was radio’s night of nights, it was also a chance for the many voices of radio to show off their incredible fashion. Mel, who appeared alongside David Koch on Sunrise from 2002 to 2013, opted for an incredible sparkling gown for the evening.

Designed by Rachel Gilbert, Mel’s dress ensured she was every inch the star as she walked the red carpet and smiled for photographs. The floor-length gown included a split that managed to show off the star’s pins.

She wore a matching pair of gorgeous earrings by Pierre Winter Fine Jewels and wore her blonde locks in a straight style for the outing. She also accessorised with a fashionable black clutch, as well as a stunning pair of shoes. In one Instagram post, she credited her team for helping her look so amazing for the night, before insisting it “takes a village” for her to pull her incredible look together.

Fans of the author were quick to praise her for her stunning choice of outfit at the event and to congratulate her for winning.

One person on Instagram wrote: “Congratulations Melissa Doyle & you look stunning btw [by the way].”

The Project host Lisa Wilkinson said: “Thoroughly deserved Mel. Congrats.”

At the event, Mel was spotted with former Home and Away darling Kate Ritchie. The 40-year-old, who now appears as a host on radio station Nova, was also spotted in a similar sparkly dress to Mel. Taking to Instagram, she shared a happy snap from the red carpet.

Kate wrote: “Sequins to the left of us and sequins to the right at the #acras2018last night.. Congratulations to the ever gorgeous @melissadoyle7 on her win.”
