Muy caliente! US First Lady Melania Trump showed off her slinky figure in a skintight dress that made sure all eyes were on her at an event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The white top of the dress left little the imagination, clinging to her pneumatic bosom in a style very few first ladies dare to wear, while the tight-fitting red skirt ended in a flamenco-style hem, presumably in a nod to the nature of the event. She finished off the look with matching red stilletoes in her favourite extreme pointy-toed style.

The dress was reminiscent of the style of the ‘sweater girls’ of the 1950s, when a tight-fitting sweater was employed by stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield to call attention to their best assets, although Mrs Trump forwent the bullet-bra that they daringly employed.

She was clearly pleased with her look, wearing an unusually broad smile at the event at the White House, where she and the president played host to more than 200 Hispanic business, community and religious leaders.

On the previous day, Melania has dressed down – for her – in a black, double-breasted suit jacket with classic white shirt and black cigarette pants for a meeting with senior military leaders and their wives at the White House.

That said, the first lady knows she has her husband’s backing when it comes to some of her more eye-catching fashion choices.

The president defended his wife in an interview recently after she was criticised for wearing her preferred stilletoes en route to the disaster zone in Texas following Hurricane Harvey.

Trump said Melania just wanted to look good “out of respect to the White House” at public appearances, but usually changed into more comfortable footwear when not in the public eye.

What do you think of Melania Trump’s fashion choices? Is there too much attention paid to them?
