Catherine pays homage to Diana in near-identical dress

Princess Diana never got to meet her daughter-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Duchess of Cambridge never got to meet her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, but over the years she’s found a special way of honouring her memory: through her style.

On Thursday, Catherine visited the new White Garden at Kensington Palace — a stunning memorial garden commissioned by Princess William and Harry to mark the twentieth anniversary of their mother’s death.

Catherine wandered the garden with the princes and it didn’t take long for people to draw comparison between the green floral dress she was wearing and one Diana wore to her rehearsal dinner before her wedding in 1981.

Though not identical the two dresses were remarkably similar with both finishing below the knee with a high neckline and cinched in waist.

It’s not the first time Catherine has honoured Diana in this way either.

After giving birth to her son Prince George, William and Catherine appeared on the hospital steps to present him to the world — the Duchess wearing a blue polkadot dress similar to the green one Diana wore after having William.

In November 2016, avid royal watchers noticed the striking similarity between the Duchess at a solemn Remembrance Day service and Princess Diana at the same ceremony in 1991.

Of cause it’s not just through style that Catherine pays homage to Diana. She’s also immersed herself in charity work, especially those dedicated to bettering the lives of children around the world.
