The Duchess of Cambridge hasn’t let her upcoming due date halt her royal work and public appearances, and she looked glowing on her latest outing.

Cradling her growing baby bump in a vibrant green outfit, Catherine, 36, flashed a beaming smile as she waved to fans at a conference about child welfare in London, organised by her Royal Foundation.

Her outing came just hours after her husband Prince William is said to have confirmed she’s due to give birth “any minute now”.

Hello! magazine reports the Duke made the comment to Beatles legend Ringo Starr, while awarding him his knighthood at Buckingham Palace. While no official due date was ever confirmed, it was previously reported the pregnant mother-of-two is due next month.

Catherine took inspiration from her grandmother-in-law, the Queen, who is a fan of pastel-coloured outfits on royal outings. Showing off her growing bump, the green coat-dress clung to her frame with a simple bow round the collar.

Speaking at the Royal Society of Medicine, the Duchess called for more support of parents and families, while raising awareness of the importance of education for the next generation of parents.

Kensington Palace said: ‘Today The Duchess of Cambridge hosted an symposium on early intervention, bringing together academics, practitioners and charities to better support the wellbeing of young children.

“Her Royal Highness announced her plans to create a long-term collaboration between experts and organisations to raise awareness of perinatal, maternal and infant mental health, as well as the need to support parents, families and teachers.”

In her speech she said: “I really feel so passionately about the importance of early intervention… providing children in their earliest years with social and emotional security builds strong foundations which last a lifetime.”

She added: “We need mental health support in primary schools before the biological changes and academic pressures of adolescence kick in.

“We also need a focus on parenting and family support, so that parents feel able to get their children ‘school ready’, and are confident that they themselves can cope with the mental and emotional needs of their own children.

“We need to highlight how important it is to support mothers too, potentially even before they give birth. They need to be aware how vulnerable they might be and, critically, know where they can find help for themselves, as well as for their babies and toddlers.

“And potentially we could start to look even earlier, by teaching parenting and relationship skills to teenagers, to get the next generation of parents child-ready, well before they have to put these skills into practice.”

It was previously reported Catherine is due to welcome the couple’s third child next month, ahead of Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle.
