Cate Blanchett rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to making a fashion statement on the red carpet, and her latest look proved no different as she fluffed up her feathers at a London premiere.

The 49-year-old Hollywood beauty posed on the red carpet for the UK premiere of her new movie Ocean’s 8 on Wednesday, which also stars Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter.

Cate looked stunning in a grey feathered long-sleeved top which accentuated the actress’ curves thanks to a black belt which nipped her in at the waist. She finished off the polished look with a set of striking silver and emerald earrings.

The Ivanhoe-born star’s bold look ensured she kept warm in the cool British weather and she teamed the striking jumper with a simple pair of black slacks and a classic pair of black stilettos.

It was also revealed this week that the Victorian is due to make her debut at the National Theatre after landing a role in a new Martin Crimp play, titled When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other – Twelve Variations on Samuel Richardson’s Pamela.

Cate, who lives in the UK with her husband Andrew Upton and their children, is no stranger to treading the boards, but this role will mark her first appearance at the prestigious London venue.

The play will be directed by Katie Mitchell, who told The Guardian: “I’m delighted to welcome Cate Blanchett to the National, and look forward to developing a new working relationship with this extraordinary actor.”
