Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day is just over a week away and it is set to be one of the most anticipated royal weddings in years.

A week after penning a scathing letter encouraging Prince Harry to call off the wedding, Markle’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr has now begged his sister for forgiveness and is pleading for an invite to the wedding.

In his original letter, published by InTouch Magazine, Thomas branded his half-sister as “jaded” and “shallow” and said the nuptials between Meghan and Prince Harry would be “the biggest mistake in royal history”.

Speaking directly to Prince Harry, Thomas said he was confused the royal couldn’t see “the real Meghan” and made a serious of sensational claims. He said Meghan’s extravagant lifestyle left their father in debt and even blamed her for his own lack of contact with their father.

Thomas appears to have changed his mind. InTouch Magazine has published another exclusive letter, this time asking for a last-minute invite to the wedding.

In the letter, Thomas recalled childhood memories with Meghan. He mentioned school plays Meghan participated in, holidays and days spent with their beloved grandma. He also said he was hurt that he still hadn’t received an invite to the wedding.

“It does hurt my feelings not getting invited to your wedding, along with the rest of the family,” he wrote. “But it’s not too late to send me an invite along with your entire family. We should all be there to show our love and support on your wedding day, because that’s what families do. Not to mention, how long it’s been since we all seen and have gotten together, that would be very nice.”

He added he was proud of his sister and apologised for venting his frustrations and for asking Prince Harry to call off the wedding.

“I was disappointed and confused about not getting invited. I really only wish you the best,” he said.

Thomas concluded he was hopeful for a “royal family reunion”, but added he would accept whichever decision Meghan went with. Still, it looks like some of the 36-year-old’s family will be part of the big day.

Kensington Palace confirmed Meghan’s father would be walking her down the aisle next week. The Palace also said Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, would stay with her daughter the night before the wedding.

“Both of the bride’s parents will have important roles in the wedding,” the statement read. “Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion.”

What do you think? Should Meghan Markle’s brother be invited to her wedding? Did you face any problems when putting together your own wedding guest list?
