‘Will he ever learn?’ Thomas Markle slammed after yet another interview

She has been a member of the British Royal family for almost three months, but the Duchess of Sussex can’t seem to get a moment’s peace as her father continues to give interviews about his daughter and her new in-laws.

Thomas Markle made some more explosive revelations during a chat with the Daily Mail on Saturday, as he revealed that he hung up on Prince Harry during a fiery telephone call, following the publication of a set of staged paparazzi photos in the lead up to the royal wedding.

The 74-year-old, who hasn’t seen his daughter since before the wedding on May 19, also confessed to lying to the Duke of Sussex about the set-up pictures, which caused a scandal just days before Meghan and Harry said ‘I do’.

“Harry told me that I should never go to the press,” he told the British newspaper. “That it would end in tears. He said, ‘They will eat you alive’. He was right.”

Mr Markle said that Prince Harry and Meghan contacted him after the story broke, revealing that he’d been paid for the staged photographs, and claims the 33-year-old royal told him: “If you had listened to me this would never have happened.”

To which Markle replied, “Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead… then you could pretend to be sad,” before hanging up on the Queen’s grandson.

“I’m not mad at Harry. I’m not mad at Meghan,” he added. “I love them. I wish them well. But as for the rest of it, f*** it. I’m done.”

However, people are now calling for Markle to rein in his tongue, claiming he should stop “embarrassing” his daughter, 37, in the press.

Following the most recent story, one reader commented: “Yet again another article. Will he ever learn? Coming next week an article on how Meghan won’t listen to what he has to say. Stop giving him paper space.”

Another said: “Grub, who does that to your own daughter! My family would never in a million years do that to me. Chin up Meghan you have your Mum and a new family now.”

It’s far from the first time that Markle, who lives in Mexico, has spoken out about his daughter in the media since she became a household name thanks to her romance with the British royal.

He previously claimed that the former Suits star is “terrified” of her new life, after she was pictured during an official trip to Ireland, saying he can tell that Meghan is feeling the pressure due to her “pained smile”.

The retired lighting director has also previously taken aim at Her Majesty the Queen, taking umbrage with the fact the monarch met US President Donald Trump before him.

During an interview with gossip site TMZ, he said: “If the Queen is willing to meet our arrogant, ignorant, and insensitive president she has no excuse not to meet me,” he said. “I’m nowhere near as bad.”

Markle’s comments come ahead of his daughter Samantha Markle’s highly anticipated appearance on UK reality show Celebrity Big Brother, where she is expected to discuss her famous sister, who she previously labelled ‘Princess Pushy’.
