It’s fair to say most grandparents would do almost anything to keep their grandkids happy, and this seems to be the case for doting grandparents Bert and Patti Newton.

Patti, 73, took to Instagram last week to share a loving moment between her husband and their granddaughter, Lola.

In the photograph, 80-year-old Bert was smiling from ear to ear as his granddaughter painted his nails. The former Good Morning Australia host was sporting pink nails in the snap, which matched perfectly with his pink and blue bracelets.

“Lola chose the nail polish poppy had, blue pink and purple,” Patti captioned the post.

Fans were quick to praise the loving photo, with one writing: “What a gorgeous poppy, so much love in this gorgeous family.”

Another added: “Lucky Lola to have such a wonderful Poppy in her life.”

While a third wrote: “What wonderful grandparents these children have! So much love.”

Earlier this month, Bert and Patti became grandparents for the fifth time after their daughter, Lauren, and son-in-law, Matt Welsh, welcomed a healthy baby girl.

Lauren and her former swimmer husband already share sons Sam, 10, and Monty, two, as well as daughters Eva, nine, and Lola, six.

Patti introduced baby Perla Dolly to the world with a sweet Instagram post.

“Bert and I are so excited to have Perla home at last,” she wrote. “Perla means precious and Dolly was my Nanna’s name. Very lucky Poppy and Nana.”

While Lauren, 38, introduced her new daughter with an adorable family snap of the new-born with her four older brothers and sisters.

“Then there were 5! Welcome to our beautiful Perla Dolly Newton Welsh,” she said. “We are all thrilled and she really is a doll.”

In the photo, their sons Sam and Monty, as well as daughters Eva and Lola could be seen beaming with delight as they cuddled their new little sister.

It’s been a busy time for Patti recently. In between being a grandmother, she recently appeared as Val Grundy for the 8,000th episode of Neighbours.

The episode, which aired late last month, saw Patti’s character introduced to Neighbours fans for the first time in the show’s 33-year history, before she was killed off during the same episode.

With grandparents who have made such a huge impact on the Australian entertainment industry, here’s hoping little Perla will follow in her famous family’s footsteps when she’s older.

Are you a fan of Bert and Patti Newton? Have you let your grandkids run wild with the makeup and face paint?
