All the glitters! Sarah Ferguson turns heads in stunning silk evening gown

Sarah Ferguson looked every inch the belle of the ball on Friday as she attended a glamorous awards evening in London. The Duchess of York dressed to impress for the occasion, slipping into a dramatic silk gown and statement shoes.

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife looked sensational in the floor-length silk frock which clung to her curves and featured a statement jewelled band beneath her bust. The A-line gown featured flattering cap sleeves, which covered the duchess’ shoulders.

Sarah accessorised the stunning dress with a pair of statement black flat pumps, which featured a bright red heart design, as well as a bright red headband which she wore around her hair line. She kept her hair down and straight and opted for a simple smoky eye to complete the look.

The 59-year-old mother-of-two – who retained her title despite divorcing the Queen’s youngest son in 1996 – posed on the red carpet for photos at the Heart Hero Awards in London, which were hosted by the British Heart Foundation.

According to the charity’s website, the awards are held to recognise the “committed individuals who give so much of their time and energy to help beat heart and circulatory disease”.

Sarah wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance at the awards ceremony though as Sir Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster also made a stylish appearance on the red carpet, option for an entirely different style of dress for the occasion.

The 48-year-old, who married the ‘Maggie May’ singer in 2007, stepped out in a boho-style floral frock on Friday evening. The floaty dress featured a bold black and pink pattern, as well as several rows of ruffles around the bottom of the gown which only served to accentuate the Loose Women star’s natural curves.

Fergie’s outing comes just weeks after she made perhaps her most fashionable appearance yet, as she turned heads in an extremely glamorous outfit at the wedding of British pop star Ellie Goulding at York Minster Cathedral in the UK.

Sarah joined her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie for the nuptials at the start of the month, with Fergie opting for a stylish black coat dress for the occasion, which she wore over a simple yet stylish navy dress.

But it was her choice of headwear for the big day that really turned heads, as the charity ambassador wore a monochrome feather fascinator on top of her gorgeous red locks and completed the look with a clutch purse and a pair of stylish heels.

While Princess Eugenie stepped out alongside her mum and sister in a gorgeous floral dress which fell to her shins, and featured a classy V-neck neckline. The princess, who is approaching her first wedding anniversary with husband Jack Brooksbank, matched her navy hairband perfectly to her choice of frock.
