That’s how it’s done! Glenn Close oozes timeless elegance in chic jumpsuit

Glenn Close proved that sometimes simple is best this week as she stepped out in an elegant black jumpsuit for a major awards night.

The 71-year-old looked as beautiful as ever as she posed on the red carpet at the 30th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US on Thursday.

With her short blonde locks styled in soft waves, the talented actress glowed in the timeless outfit as she entered the Palm Springs Convention Centre for the festival’s annual Film Awards Gala.

It was an exciting moment for the Fatal Attraction star, who received the highly coveted Icon Award, the second award Close has received at the festival over the course of her career.

Back in 2011 the actress received a Career Achievement Award. However, this year, the Dangerous Liaisons star took home the same award that fellow actress Meryl Streep accepted in 2014.

Close was granted the award for her critically acclaimed performance in movie The Wife. The talented actress played the role of Joan, who is married to novelist Joe. The film follows her journey as she begins to question her life choices and the sacrifices she has made for her husband throughout their relationship.

She starred in the movie alongside her real-life daughter Annie Stark who plays the role of a younger Joan, in flashback scenes.

Speaking on Today prior to the movie’s launch, the 71-year-old revealed what it was really like to share the spotlight with her daughter in the film that back then had already created Oscar buzz.

“I got out of town when she was filming all of that…she’s naturally talented, it is between her and the director…you don’t want your mum around for that,” she said.

The Crooked House actress never seems to disappoint when it comes to her outfit choices. Back in August last year, she wowed in a pair of racy, black leather trousers as she promoted The Wife.

Close slipped into the raunchy straight-leg bottoms as she sat down for a chat with US chat show host Seth Meyers on his show Late Night.

Known for her bold fashion choices, she paired the leather pants with a bold red and white striped double-breasted blazer, which featured six large black buttons down the front.

The six-time Oscar nominee upped the sex factor with a pair of black stiletto heels and opted to keep her cleavage under wraps by slipping on a simple white vest under the statement jacket.
