The Duchess of Cambridge has once again shown off her thrifty side in a recycled floral dress as she joined Princess Beatrice and a number of high profile stars at a black tie gala in London.
Catherine, 37, made a stunning entrance at the city’s National Portrait Gallery in a black and floral-patterned Alexander McQueen dress – the same one that she was previously pictured wearing at the BAFTAS in February, 2017. This time however, she had sleeves attached to the design to give it a new, stylish twist.
Wearing her hair down in loose curls, Prince William’s wife flashed a beaming smile outside the venue as she greeted other stars – with everyone including her relative Beatrice, Victoria Beckham, and supermodels Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Bianca Jagger attending the bash.
Beatrice made her first official public appearance with her property developer boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and looked a million dollars in a red velvet dress, black tights and navy blue velvet-style heels.
She cinched the loose outfit in at the waist with a statement belt and wore her hair down like Catherine in soft curls.
The event was held to raise funds for a special project, working to help refurbish the gallery’s building – called Inspiring People: Transforming our National Portrait Gallery.
Catherine also met members of the gallery’s Youth Forum and learning team, finding out more about the Inspiring People project.
Fans praised her appearance on Kensington Palace’s official Instagram page, with one commenting: “Could she be more beautiful and classy??? Go Kate!!” While another added: “Duchess Kate beautiful as ever.”
The duchess has been royal patron of the National Portrait Gallery since 2012.
It came hours after Catherine joined parents and children at the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre, where she took part in a Together Time session, playing with the cute toddlers and chatting to the other mums throughout the visit.
The royal, who is passionate about children’s development and education, appeared to be having a ball playing with the young children and even opened up to one of the other mums about her youngest son Prince Louis.
Hello! reports that Catherine told fellow mum, Kriti, who was there with her nine-month-old son Kameron, that Louis is keeping her on her toes as he approaches his first birthday.

“Louis just wants to pull himself up all the time,” the duchess said. “He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them.”
