Duchess of Cambridge loses one of her closest allies

The pair have become close over the years.

After five years of friendship and service, the Duchess of Cambridge’s Private Secretary Rebecca Deacon is stepping down from her post.

Deacon has been pictured in the background of hundreds of photos of Catherine over the years, always close by and on-hand whenever the Duchess needed anything.

The pair have become close friends too, with Catherine expected to be a guest at Deacon’s upcoming wedding. The Duchess even gave Deacon permission to marry in St James Place at the Chapel Royal.

The chapel is exclusive to the royal family and only close friends of the family are allowed to use it.

With Deacon stepping down, Catherine loses one of her closest companions and allies within her royal life. She is already said to be looking for a replacement ahead of her and William’s move back to Kensington Palace.

The pair are setting up home in London so George can attend school and they can focus more on their official royal duties.

With the Queen winding back her official engagements, William, Harry and Catherine have stepped up to fill her place.

Catherine will need a replacement to step into Deacon’s role before her last day of service in the English summer.

The senior role includes looking after the diaries of the Duchess of Cambridge, both public and private, and being on-hand at public events to carry gifts for the royals and bouquets of flowers.

Any takers?
