Beatrice and Eugenie return to Royal Ascot in daring style

The sisters chose bold colours for the second day at the races.

They were criticised for their race-day outfits earlier in the week, but Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have made a triumphant return to Royal Ascot with other members of the royal family.

In stark contrast to their black and white frocks from Tuesday, the young royals chose bright shades of blue and red to make their mark on Ladies’ Day at the prestigious racing event.

Princess Beatrice was relaxed in a blue-and-black number with her hair styled in a delicate fishtail braid.

She paired her dress with a sweeping black-and-white hat and silver-capped stilettos.

Her sister, Princess Eugenie, went for something a little brighter, turning heads in a striking red dress with blue and red-feathered hat.

Media outlets and self-declared fashion critics labelled the girls “frumpy” for their Royal Ascot outfits earlier in the week, but they were much kinder this time around.

“Eugenie in red, wonderful. Beatrice risks it and I like it,” said one fan on social media.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Royal Family was looking sharp with the Queen stunning royal watchers in a bright-pink coat and hat.

The Monarch is known for her love of horses and Royal Ascot is said to be one of her favourite events of the year.

While she had to spend the day without her husband Prince Philip, who is in hospital recovering from an infection, she didn’t let it get her down and was pictured smiling and laughing with guests.
