Palace releases two stunning family photos to mark Prince Charles’ birthday

Kensington Palace has released two new photos of the royal family to mark Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, and it’s fair to say they’re absolutely stunning. 

Taken in the garden of Clarence House, the beautiful pictures are the first official family photos of the royals to be released to the public since Prince Louis’ christening.

The photos, taken by regular royal photographer Chris Jackson, show the family looking relaxed and happy with the Prince of Wales sitting front and centre.

His wife Camilla also takes prime position next to him on the chair with the adorable Prince George and Princess Charlotte sitting happily beside them.

Behind stands Prince William, Prince Harry and their wives Catherine and Meghan with the family’s newest addition Prince Louis also looking as adorable as ever.

Along with the formal photo of the growing family, the palace also shared a candid snap capturing the royals enjoying a laugh together, with George giggling on his grandfather’s knee and Camilla cuddling closely to a smiling Charlotte.

The beautiful snaps were taken especially for Prince Charles’ birthday and were shared on social media on Wednesday morning with plenty of fans quickly commenting on how wonderful it is to see the family’s special moment together.

“Such a beautiful picture,” one person wrote.

“Gorgeous photos! Happy birthday Prince Charles,” another added. While a third said: ” It’s nice to see them so relaxed and having fun!”

It’s the second time George, Charlotte and Louis have been pictured together since the youngest royal was born and it’s easy to see the family resemblance between them. Chubby little Louis looks strikingly similar to his big brother when he was a baby, with the pair sharing the same shade of blond hair and blue eyes. 

Charlotte meanwhile appears to be taking after her great-grandmother, the Queen, with photos of a young Princess Elizabeth showing a clear resemblance between them. 

The latest snaps follow the release of a beautiful photo of tiny Prince Louis in his mother’s arms as he played with Prince Charles. The picture was featured in a new BBC documentary called Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At 70, also marking Charles’ birthday.

The candid photo was taken the same day as the new formal snaps and shows Prince Charles as a doting grandfather to the little prince. 

It shows proud mum Catherine smiling at her father-in-law in a spotted blue dress as she holds her youngest son in her arms in front of her.
