Tina Turner has shared a final heartbreaking message to her son as she scattered his ashes following his tragic death from suicide.
The 78-year-old musician’s eldest son Craig Raymond Turner, 59, was found dead earlier this month, just hours after the singer was pictured posing for the cameras at a major fashion event.
According to multiple reports at the time, Craig’s death was ruled as suicide after he was found with a gunshot wound at his Los Angeles flat.
Now, his devastated mother has said a final farewell to him by scattering his ashes off the coast of California, alongside members of her family and friends.
Sharing a photo on social media, Tina could be seen stood on the edge of a boat as she dropped a rose into the sea in memory of her son. Wrapped up in a grey coat, she looked down towards the water as family cradled her in their arms.
The star shared a moving message alongside the snap, describing the day as “my saddest moment as a mother”.
She added: “On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said my final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, when I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California. He was fifty-nine when he died so tragically, but he will always be my baby.”
Fans of the singer rushed to share their messages of support, with one writing: “So sorryy for your loss…prayers for your comfort and strength. Peace amd Blessings.”
Another added: “I’m so sorry for you Tina!!. He will be always with you. You have an angel, now,” and one wrote: “My hearts and prayers to you and your family.”
The singer received the devastating news of Craig’s death just hours after she was pictured looking full of joy as she laughed with friends at the Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2018-2019 show in Paris.
Craig is one of Tina’s four children and her only son with former partner Raymond Hill; Craig was later adopted by Ike Turner after he and Tina wed in 1962.
Ike also had two children from his first marriage; Ike Jnr and Michael, with the pair sharing one son together Ronnie who is now 57-years-old.
Unfortunately the marriage between the two took a terrible turn, with Tina fleeing from Ike following years of abuse.
She is now happily married to German music producer Erwin Bach and has lived in Switzerland since 1994.
Tina has become a Swiss Citizen and no longer holds a US citizenship. She has stayed out of the music spotlight for some time now, but occasionally records and produces music.
