Now, a special opportunity for sports lovers has arisen to join some of Australia’s most iconic sporting names aboard the beloved Queen Elizabeth on a unique 7-night voyage from Sydney, visiting Tasmania and Melbourne in 2024.
Not only will this be an unforgettable experience of opulence, this cruise also features Q&A and panel sessions, sports-themed onboard entertainment and activities, as well as bespoke themed excursions.
The guests of honour include Australia’s most successful female professional golfer Karrie Webb, Sunrise sports presenter and host of multiple Olympic and Commonwealth Games Mark Beretta, international cricketer and fast bowler Brett Lee, and AFL superstar Adam Goodes.
“We are extremely excited to host some of Australia’s biggest names in sport on the Queen Elizabeth next February,” Director of Cunard Australia and New Zealand Katrina McAlpine said.
“Brett Lee, Adam Goodes, Karrie Webb and Mark Beretta will captivate sports enthusiasts with stories of their career-defining moments, their professional highs and lows and give guests the unique opportunity to get up close and personal during priceless and bespoke activities both onboard and ashore.”
Guests can expect specially tailored sport-themed shore excursions in Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart.
Lee said Cunard’s Voyage of Sporting Greats will be the ultimate experience for him, saying he’s excited to appear alongside such legendary sportsmen and women.
“What a fantastic line-up. This is going to be a highlight for me next year and I can’t wait to have a yarn with guests onboard,” the cricketing legend said.
“Cunard has put together a voyage for the ages and is creating some really priceless experiences featuring myself and my fellow athletes.”
Beretta, who will be onboard doing what he does best, facilitating the guests and sharing his own stories, shared Lee’s sentiment and excitement to be a part of such a stellar line-up.
“Sharing stories of Australian sporting history and anecdotes from behind the scenes of the world of sports, plus talking to some of the biggest stars in Australian sport is going to be a treat for me and our guests,” the 13-time Olympic Games host said.
